Why walk the Camino...

I was wondering why everyone has walked or will walk the Camino. What did you get out of it, or what do you expect from it?

I'm so excited (8 weeks and 3 days to go). For me it's a spiritual journey. I've spent the past year trying to learn patience and tolerance. But I'm hoping I'll learn discipline on the Camino. I really want to meet interesting people maybe even a religious professional or two and seeing how our paths may cross.

I look forward to your responses.

Peace.

You have a good chance in meeting a 'religious professional' during your walk. Some pilgrims in hikers' gear are actually priests, you wouldn't know until you see them at Mass. When I walked last year there was a Brazilian priest who concelebrated Mass with the local priest in every town/village he stopped in. Makes me wonder if the vestments he used were in his backpack.
