I've been following with great interest as I hope to start from Seville on Wednesday.

Your blog brings back so many memories, and the photos are great. As a Dartmoor man, have you noticed the granite everywhere? I remember seeing barbed wire fences held up by hand-hewn granite posts on the trail near the Roman arch.

The granite posts were a point of wonder to us, also. Some were obviously very, very old...others looked recent.
I remember them for hundreds of kilometers.

I had not thought they were hand worked but maybe found or quarried that way.
But then...I did not know what type of rock they were until posted above.

Hi folks

Yes it is a little similar to Dartmoor although the terrain is kinder and the granite has pooled more into plates. Interestingly I was at the Roman arch yesterday and used one of the granite posts to prop up my iPad to film me walking through it for the video I am making. Glad you are enjoying the blog
