Today we burn candles for those who have passed away.
Our family does the same, but on November 4.
This year it will be November 5 since that is a Saturday.
I've had my ancestors on my table all month long.
Looking at my mother's photo all month long has also given me the opportunity to talk to her,
and work through some of the issues we had.
I've said this before, but I had 13 living grandparents when I was born, and I knew them all.
I had grandparents, greats, great-greats on all sides and a set of steps. I've inserted a photo of me (the baby) with some of them.
I sure do miss them all!

We go around the Circle, mentioning those who have passed this year, telling a little about them, and lighting a candle for them. The candles are put into my great grandmother's cauldron.
It's a very healing and beautiful rite.

Some years we have a Dumb Supper.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I went to Mass this evening. We were invited to write the names of our departed loved ones on a piece of paper. These were then placed in envelopes and put on the altar for prayers to be offered. A lovely way to remember and pray together.
