Good news for Norte pilgrims!

Two private albergues which had closed in the past years have reopened (or plan to) for 2023. They are:

Aves de Paso in Pendueles, where Anna (from Holland) takes over from Javier. Closed on Fridays!
and
Reposo del Andayon in Cuerres, whose owners have reversed their earlier decision to close. Closed on Mondays!

Mark your guidebooks appropriately, as they may not be included (mine wasn't).

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

that is excellent news, Aves de Paso is a lovely place indeed

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
El reposo de Sndayon was my favorite albergue on the Norte. I liked Aves de Paso too

I will take note of these openings, as I prepare to walk from Irun early May.
Thank you! Ultreia 🤩❤️

Sadly Reposo del Andayon will not be reopening after all. I received notification from them to say they have decided to close their business

And based on the photos and comment I received from Anna it will remain so!
You can be sure of that! Anna has become a friend of mine since she moved here. She will be a wonderful host. Now painting and fixing the last couple of things.

I was already surprised to read here that Reposo del Andayón was reopening for pilgrims. I heard similar news, however I don't have any details.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
