Time of past OR future Camino
2019-2024
Hi, I'm a fellow pilgrim from The Netherlands. I started my Camino in 2019 at home. Walking a few weeks every year, I have progressed to Cahors, in the south of France. 1600 kilometres done, 1200 to go ;-)
While walking, I interview my fellow pilgrims and publish these conversations – with their explicit permission – on my Voices of the Camino youtube channel.
Today I posted a new interview, with Mirjam:
I would really like to hear your thoughts on this!
Buen camino!

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Here are my thoughts. Others will have different ones.

When Mirjam speaks about her mother, it's a very personal story. And I think the sense of community when walking on almost any Camino frequently elicits a trust within me and with others that I meet. From that trust comes a freedom to talk about sensitive personal details of one's life that would normally not be shared as readily between strangers. But walking on a Camino route, with everyone walking in the same direction, enduring the same heat, same fatigue, and same curiosity about the next gite or auberge, brings people closer to feeling that we are all part of the "Family of Man". That's a re-coined phrase I use to describe the Camino experience taken from the title of an old book of photos which suggest that all of us are part of a global community.

Each of my Camino walks has been a personal and unique experience which I treasure. I remember people and their stories. They are much more important than the other things I remember. Other things like panoramas, the best/worst pilgrim meals, the best/worst lodging, etc. So, despite the excellent production qualities of this video, I am removed from Mirjam. I am not walking with her, I am having, as the medium demands, an edited and incomplete portrait of her compared with what you have experienced. She is not, and cannot be, part of my personal Camino experience. And that is the reason I rarely watch Vlogs that are placed on this forum. They do not "move the needle" for me.

I nevertheless wish you well on your efforts.

I enjoyed the video with the interview, it’s as good as any other of that type of vlog I’ve heard regarding the Camino. I do tend to watch Camino Videos more for the practical details, but I thought this one had a lot to say.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
