Hello all!

I'm starting my first Camino from SJPdP on the 29th of April and I couldn't be more excited! I'm planning to follow Brierley's guide as the basis for my trek but I'm staying flexible too, you never know what's gonna happen right!? I'm traveling solo and I'm getting a little nervous but I know I'll meet plenty of amazing people along the way, can't wait to meet any of you that happen to overlap with me!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
If you mean the 29th of March, keep in mind that many accommodations will be closed. Check ahead for the open places. Buen camino.

Hello Gail, getting a bit nervous is normal.
And walking alone will be no problem because you will meet plenty of other pilgrims.
Wish you a wonderful journey and a Buen Camino, Peter.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!

I forgot to add the April part of my post, oops! Thank you for being so informative and helpful though, I seriously appreciate that! I wouldn't have wanted to run into that problem without preparation haha

I thought most accommodations start opening back up in April? Starting on the 29th of March and walking to SJPdP would mean that most of your walk would be in April and most places would be opening back up.

A guide to speaking Spanish on the Camino - enrich your pilgrim experience.
I envy you your first camino experience. Enjoy Pilgrim . . . I know you will.

It will be beautiful! If you want to have a wonderful experience and meet many of the people you will see in the early part of your Camino, I would recommend booking ahead for a night in Orisson. This breaks up the walk to Roncesvalles, and the communal dinner is an awful lot of fun.

I concur. A stop at Orisson is a must. The host is wonderful and a fellow pellegrino !

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
