Time of past OR future Camino
Hopefully this coming year
I start my first Camino on 1st may and am eager for any advice. Arrive in Biarritz on 30th April at 6pm-is it possible to get to SJDP that evening ready to start walking the following morning or is that a little ambitious??? All help gratefully received

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I see trains leaving Bayonne in April 30th at 21:10 and arriving 22:28 -this option requires that you reserve lodging beforehand and notify owners of your late arrival.
Or 1st May at 07:45 and arriving 09:03 -if you already have your credential, you can start walking right away. It is a bit late, but still doable.
Take note that in France this is Labor Day, so many shops will be closed.

Or take a taxi; try Express Bourricot.
Or, as mentioned above, take it easy, reserve a hotel in Bayonne, visit this lovely city next morning, take a train and enjoy Saint Jean Pied de Port by the evening. Hey, it is leisure time, no need to be pressed!

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Lots of good options above. Regardless of what time you get to SJPdP, my advice would be to find the time to visit the Pilgrim office before you start walking. You will get good advice about weather conditions and best route to take.
Buen camino.
