Leaving SJPP August 26. Hoping for good weather

At the age of 66 I decided I’d better start conditioning for my September walk. So strapped on the familiar well loved Camino gear and went for a long walk in a wild thunderstorm last night. Poncho worked beautifully.

Today, feeling cocky, I strapped on the pack with 7 kilos in it, and went for a 2 hour hike with only a 200m elevation gain in very hot weather.

Came home, hot, weary, and much, much less cocky.
