2kg heavier than what? Who set that target figure for you? The only real question is "Do I need this?" If something really is essential then you must take it with you. If not then you can leave it behind. Up to you to decide what is essential.

After 16 days of walking (plus another three days to explore Salamanca and Zamora) I've finished my walk on the Vía de la Plata and am now continuing on the Camino Sanabres. If anyone's interested in a day-by-day report, you can find it on my...

When I was a boy, chargers were very simple devices. I could make one without much difficulty. Today a ludicrous thought. But now, briefly, they are not. The lightest weight should not be the priority (see FIRE below) In the last few years...

They are very good, not similar to any other type I have seen, and provide excellent value IMO. If you would like to buy them, then not buying them is false economy in the context of all the expenses of doing a Camino.

Hmmm just wondering if a lightweight salad spinner might work ;)

Sorry but that's about as sensible as taking a Rice Cooker! (long story) I wouldn't use that on my clothes as it would ruin them. If you have quick drying clothes it's not hard to get them dry. Just do your laundry as a 'first' thing after...

Expectations—those are tricky. Putting the Camino on a “Bucket List”—recipe for disaster. Just walk.

Sirage replied to the thread The Idea of Camino.
The potency is slow acting and increases after you finish and get home. So the thought of giving up during the journey, for that reason, is likely to be a premature act.
