2kg heavier than what? Who set that target figure for you? The only real question is "Do I need this?" If something really is essential then you must take it with you. If not then you can leave it behind. Up to you to decide what is essential. -

Sure, my answer was rather simplistic. To expand - if I am deciding between two items and they both perform their function to my satisfaction, and I would be happy with either one of them, then I will choose the lighter weight item.

Sorry but that's about as sensible as taking a Rice Cooker! (long story) I wouldn't use that on my clothes as it would ruin them. If you have quick drying clothes it's not hard to get them dry. Just do your laundry as a 'first' thing after...
