    Soreness with backpack

Hi Christina, It seems you already found your answer but I want to share a photo an REI member snapped for me during my backpack search (attached). It helped me a lot in deciding where to pack all my stuff. Also, of course this is personal, but 10kg seems a bit heavy to me. I left home with 8kg...

Camino Portugal - is it becoming more popular?

Hi @Orlaith, I walked from Valença in April and although it was very quiet but I never felt alone. I saw the same people along the way over and over. We were all walking at different paces but would meet and greet in bars, restaurants and coffee shops along the way. For two days I walked with a...

    My conundrum ....

Have you looked into Dueter backpacks? The one linked is a 35L + 10L and it was perfect size for overhead compartments. I had no problems in any of my flights on Norwegian, Lufthansa and Ryanair.

    My conundrum ....

I didn't check my backpack at any of my flights but I did have it on the overhead compartment at all times during the flights. So, I brought a foldable shopping bag with me. At the airport, I'd buy snacks and water at the gates and put it inside this bag . Then on board, I'd add items such as...

    Camino Portugues in April

Thanks @Peter Fransiscus! The Camino is contagious isn't it? After walking the Portuguese this year, my husband decided to walk the French one with me next year! We'll probably keep it short like I did and try for late March /early April!

    Camino Portugues in April

@Anamya, the weather was mostly nice early April. The day I walked from Tuí to O Porriño was the warmest. And then the temperature started going down. For two days I walked on pouring rain and by the time I got to Ames (about 9km from Santiago) it was very cold and it even hailed. Once I arrived...

    Camino Portugues in April

Hello AGAIN, I walked from Valença to Santiago in April, announced my arrival upon returning to the U.S., and then stayed off this forum till today. Although it was my intention to stay active on the forum after retuning, lot's of stuff has happened that prevented me from doing so. I'll spare...

Departing the US on April 5th

Thanks @amorfati1 I'll check the metro map/schedule and head to that basilica and mall once I arrive. I didn't even think of AirBnb for hotel alternatives - thanks for the reminder! I'll see what I can find online!

Departing the US on April 5th

Hi all, It's been a rush to get ready for the camino since booking my ticket on March 21st. Everything has worked pretty well so far and all the pieces have fallen into place. I am packed and almost out the door but I have a few more questions. I arrive in Lisbon Monday around 15:00 and I'd...
