I walked through that section at the end of January last year. A very pleasant experience. In some ways like going back 20 or 30 years. Completely different from a summer Camino.

We are in our 50s and went primarily to reconnect and unplug so the quieter pace was exactly what we needed. The weather was unbelievable. We got exactly what we needed.
We just returned this week and there is VERY little open (albergues, hotels, cafes, bars). We booked everything on booking.com and got lucky with the snacks packed. We were told most services don't open until March as another person posted.
My husbanded and I just completed our first Camino from Sarria to Santiago and are planning a return in October (Portuguese from Tui). Weather in the mid 60s and not a cloud in the sky. It was AMAZING! Very few pilgrims and VERY few services...
