    Finisterre or Muxia?

Just another thought: Bus to Finisterre and see the sunset. Consider the walk to Muxia with a stop in Lires. We stayed at https://www.casaraul.es/ Lovely family, quiet, just a short walk to the quiet cove with beach and services. Then walk to Muxia to enjoy another stunning landscape, the...

Courier service for transport of medication from SJPDP

We have dealt with a similar issue also, and this is our typical approach. Do what works best for you. 1. Obtain letter and prescription from your home treating physician in English and Spanish, or whatever language is spoken, wherever you are traveling. 2 Keep copies of these documents with...

    CPAP tubing and SD card

That degradation/damage is yet to be proven medically, unless there is some recent new data. There has been no company recall machines. One should do what one feels is in their best interest based on advice given.

    CPAP tubing and SD card

Some CPAP devices have a companion phone app that is free. They usually require the machine to have power for an hour after use every morning to upload the data. If traveling, I can pack my machine and it uploads when I plug it into power the next evening. I now have the heater turned off in...

    Private rooms availability?

Our group did the Sarris to Santiago section starting March 01, 2020, and used bag transport and a mix of albergues, hotels, private accommodations. We were Tres Amigos, almost 70 years old, with various areas of body rust and other health issues. We booked ahead to control our daily distances...

Help with shoes for someone with big feet....

Maybe call your local university basketball team equipment manager and ask where some of the players obtain shoes. The big guys have big feet. My 15 year old neighbor wears size 18 US shoe, is 6 feet 4 inches tall, and is still growing. Good luck and please post what solution worked. Thanks.

Help with shoes for someone with big feet....

14 EEE here Consider Merrell Moab mid boots or Danner. REI in the US is a great resource, with retail and online options; and Merrell has its own online store. I have yet to see many wide shoes at the Merrell retail stores.

Resmed equip need on CF (Resolved)

Depending on where the split is located, consider placing gauze or a piece of fabric inside of the rim, tape the edges, and give that a try. If you check your scores on the ResMed app, the Leak Score should give you some indication of how successful that patching is working. Please post your...

    Padron Peppers

We live in southern Ohio, in the USA. We easily grow both Padron and Shishito peppers in the ground and in straw bales. Seeds were obtained from Johnny's Seeds at johnnysseeds.com Be careful, as some are separated as known to be hot and some mild. As the phrase goes, Padron, some are hot, some...

    Taxis, insurance & money questions

Perspective from someone in the USA. IMHO and experience: Obtain Euros, smaller bills, and have them with you when you arrive in Europe. Only use an ATM at a bank, and only when the bank is open. That way, if there is a problem and the ATM retains your card, you can go inside the bank and obtain...

Planes & Poles … recent revision?

Surely would be nice if poles could be tagged by the owner and gate checked as one enters the plane, to be picked up on arrival as one is exiting the plane. Silly me. I must have had my "common sense solution" pill yesterday.

Dull, boring, urban and sketchy (sketchy?)

Tincatinker, All I can say at first blush is WOW! I thought you had a cool thought that would generate some reflection of past Caminos and interesting comments to touch hearts and stir memories, and mostly positive with some humorous anecdotes (and you did). Little did we realize that the...

    Alternative to Allianz travel insurance

Just IMHO: Avoid Allianz , at least in USA . Key point is that when you file a claim you become a "cost" and you can never supply enough information. This we know from personal experience. They still owe us over $1,000 US, and we had impeccable documentation. The Allianz motto seems to be "Just...

Is Business Class Worth the Extra Cost for Long Haul Flights to Madrid?

Some other personal concerns to consider: Height, weight, age(less flexibility), concern for clot formation and possible pulmonary embolism, joint and/or spine issues, shorter line for restrooms. As we get older, some/most develop some medical issues and still do Caminos. Slower walkers...

    Relocate to Spain after 65

I would also recommend International Living magazine. It has been published for decades and I have had a subscription for over 40 years. It will be online only in 2023. Also, a former IL editor and her husband started a similar online resource called Liva and Invest Overseas. IMHO, the two...
