Thanks peregrino_tom! Great summary…I am planning this route (including Sende Litoral—Spiritual Variante) and Santiago to Finisterre on my first Camino — with a start at the end of March. Your experience aligns with many others that I have been...
Thank you, perigrino_tom! I am actually leaving today for Portugal to begin walking part of the Portuguese Coastal and am starting to get a little anxious about many of the things you mentioned (weather, will I be alone, etc). February was...
Nothing very special for me. Not cotton - gets too damp from sweat and then chafes. Not small briefs or thongs - something like trunks which run a few inches down the thigh and therefore avoid a hem chafing in the groin. And I go for a tight fit...

I did the (red) beach walk in March 2023. Bars and restaurants were plentiful along the coast. It was beautiful and few pilgrims. It felt more like a beach walk than a pilgrimage but very enjoyable and scenic. I recommend the Espiritual variant...
If you take the Litoral (red), you will pass right by a sea glass beach!! Praia dos Cristais, in that upper left corner of your map. It was a highlight of the route for me!
