Lost a pair of pants in Pamplona. Left them over the bathroom door. Lost a backpack I was using at night. It tucked in to a 2x2" pouch. Frustrating to lose what little I had.
I saw the documentary in Scottsdale last weekend. It was far more realistic and beautiful than The Way. We stayed for the director's comments which proved very interesting. I highly recommend you see this documentary if you get the chance. The movie was filmed in April/May so the scenery is...
I appreciate the information about framing the credential but that wasn't the purpose of my post. I wanted to know whether or not the ink on your credential faded.
I am going to frame a copy of my credential because someone posted on another one of my threads that their credential stamps faded out. Has anyone else had the problem of the ink on their credentials not lasting?
I want to be able to frame my credential that allows me to see both sides. I can set it on the desk and be able to see both sides. I don't see a frame long enough to allow me to open up the credential. How have you kept your credential and compostela safe but viewable?
I landed in Madrid on May 29, 2013 at 7:45 AM from the United States. We had plenty of time to get to the bus ticket counter and get our bus tickets for Pamplona. We took the 10:45 AM bus to Pamplona. On the bus my son and I met 3 other people wanting to go to St. Jean. All 5 of us rode in one...
I feel very strongly that age has nothing to do with it.I saw people of every age suffering from the same injuries and I saw people of every age doing very well walking very far distances every day.
I think it has more to do with attitude, determination, focus, and way you want to experience the...
We stayed between the stages for the first part of the Camino but then met people we wanted to be with at the end of the day so stayed their route. Left SJPP May 30 - Some of the albergues or towns we stayed in between stages from SJPP were: Obanos - Usda priv.; Villamayor de Monjardin at the...
He is an Eagle Scout and loves backpacking so he enjoyed it a great deal. He is 18 and was able to enjoy a beer and vino tinto with me as well :D He enjoyed the walking but also the international experience. I am hoping the memories of the Camino will be something we will be able to share over a...
I just returned July 5, 2013 and I asked at the albergue is there was a pilgrim's Mass and they would let me know the time and place. There were many along the way usually at 6 or 8 PM. I think at every pilgrim Mass they asked the pilgrim's to come up for a blessing. The priests would ask you to...
I returned from walking from SJPP to Santiago on July 5. This was my experience in the albergues: noise starts at 5:30 AM usually without regard to anyone who wanted to sleep later. The headlamps were on, talking, and banging their gear around. Many nights people had to "shush" people up who...
3 of them with clipboards approached us in a pharmacy along the Camino Frances this June. I strongly told them "no" as I walked out quickly. A few days later a young man with a clipboard was coming down a hill on the route and I put my hand up and kept walking saying "no". Be firm and keep...
I'm a 57 year old woman and I planned to walk from SJPP to Santiago in 33 days without a rest day. I ended up walking to Santiago in 31 days without a rest day. I didn't have any injuries. I probably would have taken one extra day but after Leon I met some people I wanted to see at the end of...
