There are still a few area's where even bars are not an option anymore regardless your willingness to pay. I remember walking from Pamplona to Puente la Reina. The bar in Zariquiegui used to allow paying customers their bathroom, but it's closed now. The last time I walked there, there was a...
I'm having the same dilemma. We need to get to St Jean (from Pamplona ) April 3rd. Train arrives at 2:00 pm so we may have to try a taxi share . I will post a taxi share request once a bit closer to April 3rd if it turns out the bus isn't an option for us.
btw , we're counting on having to do...
Hi. I LOVE Pamplona and it's a wonderful city to recover from your travels. I am acually flying out to Madrid tonight and will take the train to Pamplona the next day and stay 2 nights in Pamplona. Just wonderful to walk around, sit at the main square and just relax. I booked Hostal Arriazu...
Well I walked my 5th Frances June 2022. I was expecting huge crowds after all opened post Covid. Turned out we barely saw any pilgrims each day . We did start walking later each day , Maybe that was why.(9 am, and yes I stay in private pre booked hostels so I don;t have to rush for a bed. It's...
Yes you can on the monbus website. However the tickets will only become available a few weeks prior to departure date. For example, today you can buy tickets until the end of April only.
I too find walking at home quite boring compared to walking in Spain.
1) it's (often) too hot here in Florida to fully enjoy very long walks outdoors . So I limit mine to 3 or 4 miles and an occasional 6 miler when the weather is cooler. This prep has always worked just fine for me on my...
Hi and Thanks. Were actually booked to stay the night at LiresCa hotel :) . But yes want to do the actual ocean front trail instead of regular Camino route for a few miles .
Thinking about the alternative route (that follows the coastline instead of more inland) between Finisterra and Lires. Has anyone done this recently and is it decently marked and what is the difficulty level? (meaning is it a very rocky rough path or fairly smooth ? ) We would only consider...
My first Camino I planned rest days, after that one, I never did take an official rest day but simply do a few very short days. I am not a city person and don't feel the need to explore Burgos, Leon or Pamplona. However, I am originally from Europe so have traveled there extensively . If this is...
Hi Cindy, Yes direct flight from Miami to Madrid with Air Europa this time but also have done Iberia in the past. I book flights whenever I see a good price. Sometimes months in advance. Check very regularly. Miami is often the cheapest airport to get to Madrid. I never did the North way but...
I've always taken my poles from Miami to Madrid in a special cheap bag as checked luggage my previous 5 Camino's. However this year I won't. We were able to book super cheap flights for end of April from Miami to Madrid for $450 round trip . However to check a bag would be $100 each way. Not...
We took a taxi last year from the top of Alto de perdon to Puenta. Emailed ahead of time to reserve taxi and time . Reason was my husbands Neuropathy and tricky downhill from Alto de perdon. I am pretty sure you can do the same from Zariquiegui .
It's very tight but possible. But personally I wouldn't risk it. I come from the USA and always sleep near Madrid Atocha station to recover from jetlag and take the train the next day to Pamplona.
