How many days are needed for the Camino Frances ?
At 64 I walked from SJPP to Santiago in 29 days. You sound like you are in better shape than I was. I think 30-36 days is sufficient. I suggest you opt for a flexible flight ticket for your return trip. That may ease your planning concerns and allow you time to linger or sightsee if you choose.- Lupe

How many pairs of shoes did you go through?
I wore Keen Targhee II waterproof hiking boots the whole way. I trained in them for a couple of months before the Camino as well. They were easy to break in. They had a wide toe box and an ankle guard to help downhill hiking. I was grateful for not getting blisters. Highly recommend them.- Lupe
