Welcome to the forum! I found that thread by entering "recumbent" in the Search box. I have also tagged this thread and the other with "bicycling". There is also a forum section on Bicycling on the Camino.

My father-in-law rides a recumbent trike (a Greenspeed) and reckons he wouldn't do a camino on it BUT he's now 93 years old. Maybe he would have considered it a few years ago! I've walked that route and was not consciously thinking about bikes...
A friend who lives in Santiago sent me a photo within the last week showing the support frame for the rope with the pulley mechanism removed. No idea when it will be restored and back in use. I assume that the cathedral will want it back working...
It's kind of Pot luck.
At the end of one Camino I saw it three times.
Last year, not all.
Tour groups frequently 'pay' to see it swing, so that increases your odds.
