    Rota Vicentina in winter?

I just came back from this last week, walking the Fisherman's Trail. The weather was cloudy a lot, but we only really got rained on for one day - soaked right through all our wet weather gear! We walked: Arrifana - Aljezur: 12km (or 17km-ish with coastal loop) Accommodation: the perfectly...

Lisbon to Porto January, February 2018

Hi Jon! Sadly no - I've just finished 7 days on the Rota Vincentina (Southern Portugal), and have decided to walk Porto - Finisterre later this year, perhaps in April or so. When did you walk it before? Any major tips or things to bear in mind?

Porto to Santiago - which route?

Has anyone experience of walking Porto - Santiago in January? I'd like to prepare weather-wise, and to have a sense of whether accommodation might be closed at that time of year? All help appreciated!

    Rota Vicentina in winter?

Hello there! My partner and I are planning on walking 5 days of the RV in early January 2018. I've previously walked the CF and the Camino Aragonese in spring/summer, so this will be quite different. We are just wondering about availability of accommodation and the kind of temperatures to...

    Please provide a beginner Information

Hello and welcome! I agree with the others that you do not need a travel agency - just a little bit of advice and planning using the links here, and from speaking with friendly Forum members. It is a more lonely and less structured camino to begin with, but don't let that put you off :)

Sharp decline in pilgrims, Camino Aragonés

Agreed on all these points! I don't know why there aren't more pilgrims on this route - it's simply beautiful, and some very unusual, special places you won't find elsewhere.

    Just finished the Aragones

I second the comments about ATMs/ cash (two of us had to borrow cash from a third pilgrim!), and about the small numbers of pilgrims overall. I really liked that aspect as a contrast to the very busy Camino Frances. I'll dig out my notes, but I think it was also about 10 or 11 euros most nights...

Lisbon to Porto January, February 2018

I am planning Porto - Santiago - Finisterre at a similar time of year (Jan 2018), and also wondering about opening of albergues, etc. Would be very grateful to hear general tips too from anyone who has walked that route recently!

Le Puy to Navarrenx to Oleron-Ste Marie to Jaca via Col du Somport

Oh, I do hope you go! I didn't walk the whole Arles route - I started (at the very end of April 2017) in Pau, and walked Lescar - Olorons Ste Marie - Somport - Jaca - Puenta de la Reine, and from there all along the main route to Santiago. It was a beautiful contrast to do both part of the...
