But hard to see from Australia - with all the wonders of Google I am able to "walk" every km of the route as a virtual tour even though at 79 I can no longer walk to the corner store, nor would my heart specialist allow me on a plane for 30 hours...
I just use the Camino specific apps that have gps tracks, like Wise Pilgrim and Buen Camino.

Personally, I really like having the GPS tracks on my phone when I walk in Spain or any other place I'm not familiar with.
Nobody has said they "need" a GPS track to walk the Frances. They don't, as pointed out by @trecile. Neither do we "need"...
