LIVE from the Camino SJPP to SdC

That may be so, but I wonder about selection and training of volunteers. In my opinion, there's a difference between directness and rudeness and I experienced the latter on one occasion.

LIVE from the Camino SJPP to SdC

This from On Being newsletter today: "We hope that gathering places can be places of connection, yes; but also places where powers and presumptions are undone, and places where griefs can be acknowledged, their burdens can be laid down — if only for a while — and where the possibility of...

LIVE from the Camino SJPP to SdC

Actually yes, I've just had a flashback to an extremely rude older volunteer who was quite vindictive at dinner time. It takes a special team to deal with people who have been walking all day over a very arduous route and are exhausted. A generous dose of tolerance and welcome is required!

    Biarritz to SDC

You can get a minibus from Biarritz to SJPdP, can't remember what it costs though but reasonable.

I probably won’t do this again

Ear plugs and an eye mask are essential when staying in albergues, in my experience. I know the frustration of not being able to sleep with the noise from others.

Dublin to Biarritz 18th September 2018

I would suggest you leave your poles at home and buy new ones in St. Jean at the start of your walk. They're relatively cheap, and when you finish you can leave them for another pilgrim to use so you won't have to carry them home. I did this and it gave me great pleasure! Buon Camino

Equipment for Chubby Girls (perhaps an ongoing guide)

Hi Sarah, I don't have any great tips, I just really admire you for posting this because it's a concern for most people as to what to wear that'll be light, warm enough, loose enough and above all - comfortable! You will see all body shapes and sizes on the Camino, and it doesn't necessarily...

LIVE from the Camino Good news! Update: Found IDs & cash returned to owner

Thanks for the welcome, Tincatinker ! I'm tuning in for quite a while now on and off. I'm not embarrassed about not noticing the date, but did feel a little frustrated, that's all. Thanks for your input to the forum. It's a helpful and interesting group of people to be in touch with.

    On my own

I can appreciate that. I'm not going then, but have done it twice now. You'll meet lots of people, and plenty of them also walking alone who'll be delighted to have your company. Also - there were four of us and we met two separate 'singles' who joined us. It was wonderful! Buen camino!
