LIVE from the Camino Challenging but worth it (Camino Sanabres Granja de Moreruela - Santiago, 8 - 20 April)

Hi Karol Very nice update. Thank you! I have added your blog to our Via blogs page. https://www.viadelaplataguide.net/pages/blogs-about-walking-the-via-de-la-plata Gerald

    Which route out of Ourense?

I've walked both way several times. There's not a lot to choose between them but if you go right you're out of the city faster and, as someone else said, less road walking, bloody steep though!

Alert Two reports of agressive dogs just after Oseira

If what you're reading on the internet is making you wonder if walking the Camino is a good idea then get off the internet!

Alert Two reports of agressive dogs just after Oseira

I would talk to other people in the albergue in Oseira and agree with them to walk as a group for the first hour or so. Otherwise, please don't let this worry you, these kinds of incidents are extremely rare.

Alert Two reports of agressive dogs just after Oseira

This is the original post: https://www.facebook.com/groups/viadelaplatapilgrimsgroup/permalink/1401495180570385/ Clearly there's a problem about 3km after Oseira at the moment. Someone's dogs are running wild. Hopefully they'll get them under control soon.

    Accommodation after Cea?

Hi John! Since you haven't mentioned Oseria I presume you're going the left route. Well, you have several options on the way to A Laxe. There's a new albergue in Piñor and after that there's Hostal Ateneo, the in Castro Dozon there's Casa Dozón, the at Estación de Lalín there's Hostal A...

    Requejo to Lubian (Camino Sanabres)

The route of the Camino goes through Aciberos. It was diverted across the motorway, past some concrete silos and across to Lubian along another path because of the AVE works. It's been restored to its original route through Aciberos for about 3 years now. That said, there isn't much to chose...

Up to date C. Sanabres info?

In Requejo a great place to eat is Restaurante Tu Casa, a few 100s metres up the road. https://www.viadelaplataguide.net/guide/requejo-de-sanabria

    Salamanca credencial

I got one of these a few years ago. It ended up being a mess. They're trying to reinvent the wheel and they should really leave it alone.

Up to date C. Sanabres info?

I walked this Camino in June/July last year. The route description and route in my apps and book describe what I saw then and the route I took following the yellow arrows. I replied on another thread on here to say that there are several ways you can walk after Requejo but last summer they had...

    Route from fuenterroble de salvatierra

Did you contact the albergue in San Pedro? it's the same number as the Casa Rural. As far as I know it's open although it was pretty run-down last time I stayed there. Also, Pedrosilla is a nice option. https://www.viadelaplataguide.net/guide/san-pedro-de-rozados

New Official River Route from Requejo to Padornelo

I'm sure they do. Are you planning to walk the rest of the Via while you're at it?

New Official River Route from Requejo to Padornelo

Be careful, parts of this route aren't accessible by car. You might end up having to walk a bit.

    Sanabres "Glitch"

I suspect the Xil in this case is pronounced the Galician way which sounds a lot like J in English.
