Pooing in the land is not the biggest problem, having nowhere to wash yourself after the deed and then chewing a toffee for 30 kms or more is a big problem.
Try Camino Levante, I have walked it and it is not so drab,dry or boring as the VDLP, might consider it again this year after walking the Frances for the 10th time complete :)
I walked the VDLP 4 years ago and was approached by 2 men just before crossing the bridge on the vile industrial estate when leaving Seville, they asked me for money, cigarettes and if i had a watch? i told them to F--- Off and i started to walk away very fast heading for Camas...they followed...
It is amazing..I told my friend from Germany that i am booked to go walking the Del Norte and he said he wants to come walking for 1 week with me, as quick as that, he asked his wife and she said yes...I met him ( Genja ) walking the Camino Frances 3 years ago...The world can be so cool at times...
It is quite true, I lost 19 kg on the VDLP, and then i walked the whole of the Frances straight after that...my friends thought i looked like i was dying of some illness when i got home because i was so thin :)
