In 2006 when i did my camino, there were around 107000 pilgrims and 2016 not counting December over 270000. I am actually shocked about the growth in numbers and i can imagine the mad run for beds at the albergues.

Hallo
Also in cities, try to find restaurants away from the camino, you get to taste the local food. Like every tourist attraction, you get better local food a couple of blocks from the camino. Our goal was to eat the local food as much as possible, nothing rich but enjoy the local flavors...
Hallo
We walked from Ocebreiro in Oct 2006 and it was great, except for one of the heaviest downpours we ever encountered at Ocebreiro.
And agin in March 2007 from leon to santiago , one of the best walking weathers, less people on the camino, but a bit cold at leon.

Maybe its because the numbers are so small...
Good afternoon
I walked the camino in October from Cebreiro to Santiago . I picked up my credential at the church in OCebreiro.
My walking partner got one at the Pilgrim Office in Santiago(we flew into santiago and then took a bus to pedrafieta).
I was not asked for a letter. IMHO ...
I would do it for free, If anybody wants me to do it in March, do let me know. I am not going to Fatima but Santiago from Leon. I think walking to raise money for charity is good. But this is , IMHO not right

Dear all
I am not sure if my 2 cents are worth it. I didnot have time to read during the walk or at the hostals. I was busy soaking the scenery and i wanted to travel light and not be weighed down with books. All we had was couple of pages we downloaded from the net about the path and...
Dear all
