Yes. You should walk alone.
When I announced that I was going to walk alone I also had some people volunteer. I honestly think they thought I was only walking alone because I didn’t have a choice. I mean I think they felt pity for me. I’ve come to realize that there are a lot of people that...
That’s good! As others pointed out there’s probably a few things you could leave out like the sleepwear. There are pharmacies all over so don’t worry too much about stuff you could get at a pharmacy. I would bring Leuko tape instead of Band-Aids. I love that Stuff. I’m going to attach a link...
I thought that too. I notice for me one reason is that it takes me a while to collect my thoughts and think about what I want to say so that’s easier to do in writing. Another reason is that online no one interrupts me LOL that actually happens quite a bit in face to face conversations.
I am an introvert as well and most of the people I met on the Camino were introverts. One thing I loved about the Camino and the people I met is that we were all extremely independent. Introverts are helpful but they don’t push their help on others in an unsolicited aggressively helpful way...
You will be fine! I walked alone in May (at age 62). I am so glad I walked alone as I think I met more interesting people that way and never had a problem finding a bed.
It is really nice to have a pack that is a bit roomier than you need. That makes it much faster to find things and to pack up again in the morning. The pilgrims I met that had a tightly packed pack were very slow as everyone had to be carefully arranged to get it back in the pack.
Buff is a trademark and yes you can be sued. You’re correct that somethings have become such a common generic word that they are no longer protected, like trampoline, but buff is not one of them. The company reached out to you so you are wise to not use that word.
I think part of the problem is jackets. Some pilgrims bring jackets that can’t be washed (or they paid so much for their Patagonia jacket that they don’t want to wash it in a machine that might not have a gentle setting) and then they just get sweaty and smellier over the course of the Camino. I...
I did not have the same experience as you with Cruz de Ferro, but I did learn a new word today, so thanks for that! I guess I viewed the detritus as an emblematic and spiritual shedding of dead skin.
In my packing I had initially packed a lot of things that I would need in certain situations. Like people on here say, I packed my fears. At the last minute I removed all those things and didn’t miss a single one of them. I removed : sink stopper, extension cord, bar of soap (I used shampoo bar...
Leuko tape is amazing! I had some blisters between my toes and I just tape them up and they were fine to walk. The rest of my first aid provisions pretty much match what was already mentioned (Benedryl, ibuprofen, pepto bismol, neosporen, tweezers, needle, nail clippers, tiny scissors). I...
Just finishing my Camino tomorrow... walking into Santiago. Wanted to update that my two sports bras at a time was a dumb idea! Putting one on over my head after each shower is bad enough two was ridiculous. Also, walking all day is not the same as working out at the gym. I wish I would have...
