As a sometimes snorer, and one who has had his toe pulled on occasion, and who has investigated alleviation practices without permanent success, I would state as follows.
If you are going to stay in a hostel realize as a fact that snorers come with the territory, indeed expect there to be...
I fondly remember wandering around the Agora in Athens, and imagining being with Socrates and his students in his open air university.
And going up alongside the Acropolis to the spot where St Paul and his friends came across a shrine to the Greek's so called "Unknown God". There were so many...
Due to length restraints, I’ve had to to split the story into two posts. I find it no longer ‘flows’.
I suggest reading Part 1 again, link just below, before reading Part 2.

Indeed Yes. It's well worth a read. I guess its around 30 years he's been gone.
It even played a part in a story I wrote here a few years ago.

The locals have always called the Bayonne to SJPDP train the "Valley Rattler". The old train sure used to be one, and the name has "stuck". It's service was, and is still somewhat erratic.
I love this way of getting to SJPdP! Ah! The beautiful French Countryside!
A night or more in Paris staying at Adveniat! (My fav after many nights in Paris)

PART 1.
It was in 990AD that Pope John XV announced that Ziggy was to be appointed the 27th Archbishop of Canterbury. So, over 1000 years ago, and there had been 26 Archbishops already....Blimey.
Ziggy had been educated at Glastonbury Abbey, where he eventually became a monk. He went on to...

Hi Marianne!
How nice to catch you here.
I like that northern coastline so much.
But it always appear a little tough for me, especially starting from Irun.

ADVENIAT - https://adveniat-paris.org/en/
I never stay anywhere else.
I get the metro to Gare Montparnasse then catch the 7.15ish morning train from to Bayonne.
At Bayonne station, the valley rattler to SJPDP waits until the train from Paris arrives.
I get grumpy about things now and them.
Don't take any notice.
Or give me a tongue lashing...gentle or stern.
Probly need one.
But I don't have a feeling of entitlement.
I'm just grumpy.

We stayed at Urrobi and really enjoyed it. Just a few KS down the main road after Burgette (off Camino but easy walking). Dorms, cabins, tent sites. River swimming and a pool.
Little shop too!
Short walk the next morning to be back on the Camino.

Gerard
It takes what it takes.
You never quite know til the end.
So you guestimate.
I reckoned, after guestimating my daily mileage, it would take 35 days to walk the CF.
I guestimated I would need/want one day off every week.
I figured to have a day off in Pamplona, Logrono, Burgos, Leon, Astorga...
