Hi
While I visit less frequently as my camino fades into the sunset, from time to time I send a pm if there is a topic where I feel I can make a contribution.

For the sheer joy of reliving the memories. In the evenings tiredness overcame me and I didn't keep a diary. Two years on I have been asked to talk to the University of the Third Age in a local town of my Camino experiences. I have had to sit with my photos and relive each day, remembering...
Hi Pat
Recently we went on a fund raiser for cancer research. In conversation with a couple of women we were invited to give a talk to the local University of the Third Age on our Camino Portugues experience.
We gave an impromptu talk to a local Probus group on our return but had no notes to...
Re: closed airports and cancelled flights
Qantas Flights from Australia to Europe are on hold until Tuesday afternoon. A company spokesperson commented "we're still not optimistic of being able to resume them from Tuesday onwards". As we say in Australia "bugger".

Ian,
Sounds like a hard slog, you have done it before and I'm sure with determination you will complete. Thanks for the great pictures on the blog. We are all behind you in spirit.

This guy is so lucky to have the luxury of time. To other pilgrims it will be a nightmare. They are just about ready to fly, excitement is at a pitch and then the volcano erupts. Dreams are shattered. Annual leave has been taken and the time will be too short to for any Camino. Then there...
Hi Bridget & Peter
Don't know how to comment on your blog but am enjoying reading of your progress. Hope the blisters and the knees calm down and you can enjoy the rest of your walk. Cheers Rose Louise
Hi Trudy
There is an excellent monument to Father Salvado outside the local police station in Tui on the Camino Portugues. I am sure if this event had more publicity many former and possibly new pilgrims would have joined in the walk to New Norcia.
Looking forward to watching Compass...

Hi hanzondeck2,
In the last week of May, 2008 it rained every day from Tui to Santiago de Compostella. Yet it was quite warm in between showers.
Expect the unexpected and you will have a great camino.
Cheers Rose Louise
Hi
I have been following the forum for a number of years and some of the blogs associated with it. I see some real life angels in Sil, Rebekah, Kiwi Nomad, Ivar and the other moderators. Always there, providing advice to current and would be pilgrims. Rebekah and Paddy open their home to...
Priscillian
You called as it was. So many will be able to empathize with you as they read your article. Only an hour ago I emailed the guys we walked our camino with. We spend little time with them and suddenly they feel like family just as so many unseen scribes on the forum site.
Where...
