My husband and I walked the first half of this camino in 2019, from Görlitz to Leipzig. You can find my general information on the route, info on the first part and a Photovideo here: https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/via-regia-der-oekumenische-pilgerweg.66893/
Last autumn we...
As I said, the albergue is in the old school building. A large room is furnished for the pilgrims. There are two bunks and two beds = 6 beds. Some blankets. The old school bathroom is perfectly fine - ladies and gents. Hot water, heating in the room. That is to say: All the basics.
After 20...
Nice! Yes, I read it and found useful help. Thank you! It was not difficult to walk the opposite way, but may be that is because we have always a GPS-track on the mobile now. So we also had now for Camino San Olav. The marking was quite good, but of course the marks are not on the importent...
I hope someone will like this photp video. We enjoyed these two caminos.
You can find some more information from me on these caminos in the other posting from me here.
This spring my husband and I walked the Camino Castellano-Aragonés and the Camino San Olav. It was a great experience! These are caminos with a lot of variety, beautiful landscapes and fine, old Romanesque architecture - and even older.
I am not writing a detailed description here now; just...
Yes, we walked directly from Deltebre to Amposta along the river. Nice footpath. We did because that was a better way to get good distances the first days. I always try to plan for short distances the first days of a camino. Goog luck with your planning!
A little more information.
We arrived by plane to Barcelona and took the train to Figueres. (NB! There are two train lines on either side of the city! We took the fast train that stops on the east side.) From there we took a bus to El Port de la Selva.
GPS: We always follow GPS tracks from...
We asked at Restaurant Hostal Grau, but they did not have rooms, but they said we could try Casa Rural Cal Sabata. So we did, and we had a very nice stay there. ... and a good Menu at Restaurant Grau. :)
Last October/November we walked Camino Catalán/Cami de Sant Jaume from El Port de la Selva to Montserrat, and one day more. After 20 years of camino walking, I would rank this one high on my list. Of course, nice weather always gives a good impression, but ... There are nice landscapes, varied...
Thank you for your positive words! We started in Almeria October 18, came to Granada October 26, and stopped in Baena on October 31. We were a bit worried about the weather and the temperature, but were very lucky on that autumn walk. Other years we have not been so lucky. Snow in Cuenca on...
Here comes my photo video from Camino del Ebro this April / May. We started at the mouth of the river and followed it to Gallur (north of Zaragoza), where we left this route and continued on the Camino Castellano-Aragonés to Tarazona.
We are 70 years old now and do not walk that long stages...
A report from Camino del Ebro from Ebro's estuary to Gallur in April / May.
General: The best thing about walking this route in April / May was the nature. It was so intensely green! And the flowering along the roads was amazing! There are many memorials from the Civil War from Tortosa and four...
We had two days on the Camino Castellano-Aragonés this May. We had walked the Camino del Ebro from the mouth of Ebro and had only two days left of the holiday. I hope to return and continue one day. It was two very nice days, and here is a small photo video from these two days. Gallur - Borja -...
On our hike on the Camino del Ebro this April / May, we had two days on the Camino Castellano-Aragonés. Then it was time to end the hike. It was two great days! Sun, green fields, flowers, good roads, variety. Eventually a small photo video comes out. Now I just wanted to make a few comments on...
Two weeks behind! Started Camino del Ebro outside Riumar yesterday. May be we will have some problems finding places to sleep. "Groups only" and "cerrado". Too high costs for the heating, may be. Or just too early for the season.
Then I think we will be some days behind you, but we will see. Your first camino! Good luck! All the best wishes! We are 70 years old now and started 20 years ago. Never been able to stop.
