There are many Caminos. If you would like, try doing a much shorter one. The Camino Ingles (English Way) is much shorter and it is The camino de Santiago in full. .....Just a suggestion.
I fly into BCN everytime I fly into Spain. I stay with my fiancee who lives just outside of BCN. I traveled by train and bus to get to SJPdP in one day. Walking from BCN is in my future plans but it will ad nearly half a month to the camino. Buen Camino.
The albergue I stayed in the day I arrived in SJPdP had a shower room that was co-ed. The two stalls were separated by a wall and had privacy curtains. All other albergues I stayed in through out the rest of my camino were separated into mens and womens room with stalls.
Buen Camino. I wish I was starting with you. I was on Camino in Pamplona on holy week. What a great time. I Started alone but I was never alone. God bless and enjoy the Camino to the fullest.
BUEN CAMINO
That photo was taken 18 April 2017 at the Estella municiple Abergue. I started at SJPdP on 14 April 2017. My new (much lighter)pack is sitting packed waiting for my next April 2018 Camino....perhaps English, or Portuguse.
Buen Camino. Estaré en España por navidad. Parace que un sueño de 7...
I use Crocs all the time..... cheap knock offs... I have found that if I leave them close to a heat source, they get smaller. They are inexpensive and rather comfortable. On my next , Crocs will be taking up space in my pack.... my hiking shoes will be, my crocwill be on my feet.
In April I had to be rescued because of an injury. The cab took me from Orisson to Roncesvalles. We did not go back to SJPdP. we crossed ust below Orisson. It is far but doable. This is a link on google maps showing the route. Check the weather and if it is bad...don't go the Napolean route...
I have traveled throughout Europe many times since 2009. I have only felt endanger once....never let friends drive drunk... Never threatened by anyone. On the CF earlier this year, I found a bed every night except when I arrived at Leon at 11:30 pm and had to take a very expensive hotel room.
I use my hands. Dry with a super light camping towel that drys fast. If I have to scrub I use my shirt that I wash in the shower at the same time that I shower.
I walked with a couple who had hearing problems. And could not see well in the dark. After the third night with them I "got hurt and stayed behind". I knew where they were staying and when I arrived in that town I didnt stop at thier albergue. A couple days later I was releaved to recieve an...
I found that if you follow manuals like the majority do, you may found it hard to find beds. I tried to stop just passed the cities mentioned in most guides for stopping. I spent the night in an 18-bed private Albergue with only one other pilgrim. It was priced at 7 euros. Pensions, hostels...
