I walked the EPW year. I did use maps.me on a couple of occasions when I was unsure as to my whereabouts and at those times was walking by myself. I have not checked the EPW website for next year's walk. This year the Guide instructions were only made available just before you left. In my case...
Ah Margaret I pray that you improve and that one day you can walk this again. Today I have shed tears for you and feel so saddened in my very being. Keeping you in my prayers and thoughts. I walked because of you and the spirit that came via you and your blogs over many years.
Ah you walk again Margaret! Know that I walk with you in spirit. I've read every post in your blogs over the years. Truly inspiring. I'll be back to walk from Le Puy next year.
I have just arrived back home after walking the long, arduous European Peace Walk during the hottest summer on...
I am walking this starting 18 August. There are nine days over 25km and there are a couple of consecutive days of 28 km. In total there are 24 stages. Of the 24 stages, nineteen days are over 20 km. Whilst I am looking forward to this exciting "Camino of Peace" I am worried about the many...
Hello Monique, You may have already made up your mind and booked your transport. You don't say when you are leaving. I too am walking the EPW this year commencing 18th August.
You may want to explore this site which compares Air travel, train and bus travel Venice to Vienna...
Treat that "pack horse" well Lachance. Check the pack and chuck out some of the stuff. Make it as light as you can and I am sure that "pack horse" will be your friend. Buen camino
Welcome Normita,
You can certainly walk at any pace that you choose. Listen to your body and walk as far as you want to each day. You will never be far from accommodation of some sort. It pays to have some idea of where accommodation might be though. I am a meanderer and get easily distracted...

I bought very lightweight 100% merino t-shirts from them? Brilliantly and dry in no time. Also come in some great colours and also short and long sleeved.
Best decision I made when purchasing gear.
Travel well
Starting this fascinating walk on 18th August. Anyone else starting on that day?
Also taking a small "carry on board" case with some more acceptable clothes for the few extra days I'll need to travel from Trieste to Amsterdam. I am posting the case from Vienna to Trieste in Italy. I will put...
Hey Daniel, Thanks for sharing these precious pics. They give me a very good idea of what I will see as I walk around about the same time as you did. I feel inspired and just want to get going now.
Hi Lyndal, I used the CBA Travel Card and on occasions there was no charge. I just checked my statement and noticed that on a couple of occasions the charge was $2.00. I did have one experience where the charge was going to be really exorbitant (it is displayed on the screen before Iconfirmed...
Ah but how fast and far can I run! Not very far these days as my 10 grandchildren can all outrun me and it wasn't that long ago that I could be faster than the lot of them.
I'd ask myself the question: "Why do I want to walk the Camino?" Then do some research and make a decision on the answer you find? There are lots of camino to choose from and of course they are all quite different.
What is the accommodation like? Are they big dormitories, or smaller rooms. What would be the maximum number of people in one room and also the minimum number in a room? I am just trying to work out what type of ear plugs I will need? Also what happens if for some reason I have to take a day...
Oh dear I have been counting but not the days. I counted 23 000 plus steps yesterday as I trekked 19km to toughen up my feet once again. My mind is counting through the many things I must do before I leave the 10 grandchildren behind.
And that falling Australian dollar has me recounting too...
Hello "cloosh" I have found the Apple App "VDLP" by Melanie McManus extremely helpful in planing for the Via de la Plata. I know that it sometimes difficult to read the phone screen in the strong daylight. Its a good app and it is fairly up to date. What I liked about it was that it has...
Hola Sarah, Happy birthday and go for it young lady. I walked in April May and the weather was changeable to say the least but nothing to really worry about. I am sure you will just love it. You come from a part of Australia that makes you tough. There is a lot of info here for you to search...
