If I were to detour and walk from melide to sabrado to visit the monestary and then walk back to melide to continue along the Frances, would that jeopardize qualifying for the compestetla?
Yes, Toledo is fantastic. I am flying out of Madrid but won’t be able to see Toledo, however I’ve been before. Did you by chance come across any Mozarabic masses along the Camino Frances? I’ve been on the look out for that in particular.
That’s incorrect. Ive known plenty of people - including myself - who have used bladders with electrolytes. You just clean it.

I’m on the move already. Personally, I’m happy with a bladder and a 250ml electrolyte concentrate. 100F through this Sunday. 2 liters has not lasted that longer during this heat wave.
Pack and bladder are working out fine. My shoes on the other hand….well, it’s on to the Chacos. There will be a worn pair of la sportive trail runners sitting on the sidewalk of Pamplona if anyone wants some.
Aside from the obvious, what are some unmissable albergues or experiences for Catholics? Are there any retreat spots along the way?
As an example, I missed out on Zabaldika, but I wish I would have known about the sisters of the sacred heart and their albergue. They seem to be a bit off...
Update: Final packing list, 17 pounds w/ 2L water. Leaving tomorrow. Will be breaking up the first day with a stay at Refuge Orrison.
Switched to a 22L north face day pack.

-1 silk sock liner

I see that there are plenty of options to buy trekking items, but curious about these, as I hope to purchase them as I begin the Camino.
