I did the Camino Frances last summer for the first time. Being from Iowa, I walked lots of relatively flat terrain for 3-10 miles here and there. In hindsight, I wish I would have spent more time working on going up and down rather than distances because that was honestly harder for me. I...
My bank does not yet make cards that have the chips in them. I know some european businesses online require a chip to do transactions. Will I be okay for ATMs with my debit card even though it has no chip? 3 more sleeps to go and getting nervous!
Since I see there are trains leaving Chamartin for Avila every hour or so, I'll just wait till I get there and get a ticket at the airport. Thanks again for all your help.
Laurie,
I'll be getting into Madrid at 11am at terminal 4S, the satelite terminal. I know I'll have to go from there to T4 but am not concerned about that at all. Is 11 considered a "peak time"?
Thank you so much everyone for your responses! I'm glad to know its easy to get a ticket upon arrival in Madrid. I'm fighting my overplanning urges as it is with the camino and am hoping to have one in hand before leaving as I'm concerned about being tired after jetlag, but may just go and...

How did you like Corazon Puro? I have a reservation there 1 night and Orisson the next after leaving SJPP. Wondering what your thoughts are so I know what to expect.

Hello all,
This is my token post to the calendar. I'm flying in to Madrid on June 15, taking a couple days in Avila to see St. Teresa's convent and get over my jet lag, then heading to SJPP to start the Frances. This will be my first pilgrimage.
Buen camino to all,
Lisa
I'm flying into Madrid on June 15, taking a day or 2 in Avila to see some things and get over jet lag, then heading to SJPP. Will leave SJPP on the 18 to start my first camino!
I'm flying into Madrid this June from the USA and here's what I'm doing....
