I had 2 pairs of black hiking pants one of which I wore to travel to Camino and switched as necessary while hiking. Had 2 short sleeve T-shirts & I long. Also a weight zero windshirt, Black full-length zip fleece and blue Marmor rain jacker. Plus 2 plastic $1.99 rain ponchos from Pharmacie...
A few years ago whilst on our annual canoe trip (Canada), we were portaging and I was a bit ahead of the others. I came across some bear scat right in the middle of the trail and very fresh - literallly steaming. Slowly I turned and began singing 'Teddy Bears Picnic' at the top of my voice...
I have an ancient Ipod shuffle - stamp size and clips on anywhere. Always bring it since my 1st Camino in 2007. I play Goodbye Yellow Brick Road as I walk out of StJean. He ain't heavy, He's My Brother by The Hollies sung to my Backpack once in a while! Also. I'm Still Standing by Elton as I...

Usually I walk Sept and into October. I always bring a pair of lightweight thermals - black. Sleep in them and in cold weather use them as an under layer. Buen Camino.
Bravo Ricky! Maybe I'll see you out there as I hope to walk Sept/Oct 2023!
I once had a life goal to walk the Appalachian Trail - 3 timrs I was all set and each time I couldn't go as each of my 3 children had an emergency then. Haven't done that but Love the Camino - been several times. Years...
Many people seem to be unaware that not everyone has a reaction to a bed bug bite. In fact you can be bitten & not even know about it. Sadly I'm very reactive to insect bites. However, I never had a bite on the Camino except in a hotel we stayed at in Santiago. I got bitten and it was about...
I was so lucky to gave gone Sept/Oct 2019 before all hell broke loose. Now I must wait till Fall 2023 to go again - miss it so much! However I am having fun planning. I have a back & a knee issue but did 600km 2019 and so have planned out a basic 25km a day and also a 20km a day route. But of...
First Camino happily in Santiago and relishing next day in different clothes. I was sitting in the cafe watching Pilgrims arrive when suddenly it occurred to me that none of them were smiling and saying 'well done' to me. I felt very sad to realize that out of my walking gear I had lost my...
Really mellow -like it. For me I don't listen much to my music on the Camino. However iI always start with 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' as I head up from SJPP to Pyreness.
Also I can't resist putting on 'I'm Still Standing' as I arrive in Santiago.
