I was in Ligonde in 2006 and 2007, it was a wonderful place and was great to stay there. Before Ligonde we stayed in Portomarin, would skip Portomarin and head straight to Ligonde next time
Top Albergue.
I would prefer Goretex shoes. And gaiters . Way better than plastic over your shoes. Plastic doesnot breath. And you will be wet inside.
I know goretex shoes are a bit expensive. But good walking gear is a must for walking the camino. That has been my experience in walking the camino.
Cheers
Hallo all
I am going to cognac for a couple of days next weekend for the festival of cognac. And i have been reading that Cognac is on the camino de Santiago route. Can anyone help me to find out where the paths cross, so i could walk a couple of kms. Unfortunately my plan of walking the camino...
A cunning and dangerous plan indeed. Maybe take a colleague along , if you miss a step , there;s your colleague to help you out. But then again , if you want to be alone, doesnot help with a colleague hanging around.
Thanks,
I will plan a week to Galicia in the year 2010 either fly or drive (the camino will be crowded.)
And hopefully get to experience it
Cheers

We did the camino from Leon to SdC in March. We did see a bit of snow in Foncebaddon but the days were warm and it was great. Less people, relaxed walking.
Ocebreiro was a bit misty though. We had in all, half a day of rain. great time. But as others say, Weather is a bit tricky to predict...
Well , am not sure about following a guide book along the way. We have noticed people following the guide book to the letter and this makes the albergues full in where the group moves with the book in hand.
Its good to read but not following it to the letter.

Hallo
We walked from Leon to Santiago via San Martin del camino and then onwards to Astorga,
Vilar de mazarife , we were told was a bit too lonely and were not sure about the accomodation,
maybe the next time, we will be going via Vilar de Mazarife

Hi all
Thanks for the info. What i was looking for is a lightweight camcorder for myself, My partner will be having a camera to take still pictures.
In our last camino, the camera pictures were good but the video of the bottafumeiro was a bit grainy.
Hope this time we could get a good video for...
Hallo
Last time we were in Melide, we spoke to a pilgrim who was re-tracing his steps back and he told us that it was possible to stay at the albergues.

One of the most intriguing places on the camino is O cebreiro. Always feels mystic (misty as well)
The other place that made a great impact on me was El Acebo.
Good evening all
In my preparation for the camino in August / September, I am looking to buy a camera or a camcorder. I am curious about the other pilgrims choices for cameras or camcorders. I prefer a small size camera / camcorder (think of the weight )

Well,I dont think adding more bins would help. i have seen pilgrims both spanish and non spanish throw stuff around the bins and less into it and along the way. Maybe a bit of education would help as well.
cheers
