Well done! An amazing journey, followed on this site by so many peregrinos. Come back next year in the Spring/summer when the sun is shining!
May God bless each traveller on the camino, keep them safe, and keep their spirits high.
Steve - East Anglia, UK.
On my 1st camino I considered it cheating to do anything but walk. On the next six caminos I asked myself .... "If, in medieval times, a pilgrim was offered a lift on the cart of a passing farmer, would he refuse it?" Of course not!
My final camino will hopefully be the short Baix Maestrat over...
WOW! What a lovely video - which brought back so many memories of this year along the coast and previous years inland in the hills and forests. I still prefer the quiet of the old pathways, to the new busy boardwalk along the coast! Thanks, Albertinho. My love to Nel - so sorry she couldn't walk...
The "Roman roads" on the central camino are, to my mind, a wonderful part of feeling that one is "part of history" and I love going over the well worn tracks - even seeing the grooves cut by a million horse drawn carts and charriots in some of the road stones.
The coastal route provides...
No. You don't need to speak Portuguese.
They prefer you to speak in English rather than Spanish: but a few Spanish words may occasionally be helpful.
They're a lovely, friendly people.
Stick to English!
Steve.
P.S. Back a week ago from the Portuguese Coastal. I know only 2 words in Portuguese -...
Each camino I walk is my "final" one, Laurie! On this one, I shall turn 80 on 22nd Feb. I'm only walking for 2 weeks, so won't reach SdC, but plan to return next year to complete it..... oh! no! I can't if its my "final" one !!! 😄.
Hi again, Sparrow!
Well, I planned to walk some time after you....but I simply can't wait that long, and fly to Lisbon tomorrow!!!
Enjoy your camino.

That sounds like the standard Costa route: should be well signed. I'm walking some of it in a fortnight's time.
Porto to Matosinhos 12 km
Matosinhos to Angeiras 12 kms
Angeiras to Póvoa de Varzim 15kms
Póvoa de Varzim to Estela 10 kms
Estela to Esposende (Marinhas) 14 kms
Marinhas to Viana do...
Greetings, Doug!
I'm walking that Camino in 3 weeks time. I plan to take the river/coastal path to Matoshinos. It's a few Kms longer, but prettier [I guess!] If the river and ocean winds are too cold, I'll move to the internal camino - even though I walked it in 2011!!
Bom caminho, amigo!
Yes - it was too hot in the UK too!! But I love Portugal - and Portuguese people. They're the only European nation with whom the British have never been at war!!!
Am looking forward to it. My first ever camino was from Porto to SdC in 2011. It's all documented on my web site. I shall try to...
Hi Sparrow!
I plan to walk Porto to SdC along the coast next April/May as a "final" camino. You'll probably be long gone before I'm there - but just relax and enjoy. And enjoy the company of other pilgrims, who will become your "pilgrim family". Whatever you do, don't be put off by these rare...
