We tried to get a bus from Ponferrada to POC yesterday morning and it was full. We took a taxi from Ponferrada to Samos. It’s was 121 euros, and worth every penny. We had to cut some distance because we don’t have enough time off to make it all the way. We were in the lot of the bus station...
Folks came into the albergue in Legrono last night partying like it’s 1999. Very loud. They quieted down about 1115 or so. Big celebration in town last night. Lots of drinking.
We want to bus from los Arcos to Logroño but there doesn’t appear to be such a thing. Also, Uber doesn’t serve that area. Where should we look for a ride next? What’s blablacar?
We’re currently on the Frances. We’re walking from SJPDP. We’re looking at our projected dates for Sarria to Santiago. When we try to find lodging it all looks sold out on booking.com. What should we do??
We’re here now with HOKA speed goats. I trained in a pair that I pretty much wore every mile and I probably could have brought them here and done well. Yes, they are getting slick now but, the new ones I’m using here will surely get me to Santiago and farther, based on my last pair.
I would urge you to not bring a check bag. The passport control at Madrid airport was like nothing I’ve ever seen. Literally a couple thousand people in a room all trying to do the same thing. Crazy.. We would have missed our connecting flight to Pamplona if we had a checked bag. And from...
We’re in SJPDP now. Checked in at the pilgrim office yesterday and will start walking in the morning. I really love this town. We walked to the market and pharmacy a bit ago. Easy walk and well stocked grocery. The old church is a wonderful place to stop and get the mind right for Camino.
Is it warm enough to layer under my poncho and leave the puffy coat at home? The forecast I'm seeing is 39 (3.8 C) degrees and rain when I walk out of SJPDP.
We fly out in 4 days. I’ve tried major branded socks, three brands, and can’t wear wool. It feels hot and makes my feet hurt for three or four days after. Walking in cotton blend toe socks.. I must be allergic to the wool.
