I have a Ferrino rain coat that is similar to the Altus, but I think it weighs a little more.
Got it on Amazon and have used it for three Caminos. It covers a backpack, but is a coat not a poncho. I love it.
Maybe reserve in Santiago, if you want to stay for example at, Hospederia San Martin Pinario, in a Pilgrim room. You have to call for that. Buen Camino!
My advice is, take your time.
When you are faced with trying to keep pace with your new found Camino friends, or walk at your own pace.....walk at your own pace.
Hi Ray, I am 8 weeks post-op open heart surgery for an Aortic valve replacement.
I walked 2 miles today pretty easily! Got a ways to go, but will walk another Camino , maybe in 2017. How many weeks post-op are you? PM me if you care to compare notes.
I agree, Samos.
I showed up for the monastery tour, and was the only one! The lovely tour guide gave me a private tour in English. I stayed at the hotel across the street that night and had the paella! The walk from Samos to Sarria is very lovely too.
Hi John. I'm really happy to hear that your surgery and recovery is going well, so well, that you will walk a year later! I am facing OHS soon as well. I have been assured that once recovered I will be able to train and walk again in Spain. You are my inspiration!
Pam
