Long story short coming home from my Camino was life changing in a devastating way.
Getting ready to sell the family home so things are a little messy with things are not where they should be. I can't find a phone charger because my usual home one is at work.
There should be several around the...
My suggestion would be to have it checked out and as long as it is not going to injure you then continue the Camino by bus / train. We don't always get the journey we want / expect yet everywhere along the Camino we are exactly where we are meant to be .
This. So many time this. I was about to write a much longer bitng response calling out the mysoginism of the person who said this and now don't feel the need to.
Though this does make me wish the forum was like Survivor and we could vote people off our wonderful little island on the internet...
As with all but one response on this post I am sorry you went through this. Also sorry for the tactless response you received from one individual.
If I were a solo traveller I believe I would have handled this situation exactly as you did. Once you are threatened I believe your priority has to...
Made it as far as Los Arcos this morning. Got what may be the last 2 bunks at Albergue Abuela. Resting for the afternoon and then looking at ideas / intentions for tomorrow.
2 quick highlights from today. Hearing the motorcycle races over the hills and feeding the goats and chickens on the...
It has been an adventure. Despite some serious setbacks we have been blessed.
Spent last night in Villatuerta at 643 km . 60 Euro ( or was it 50? ) for a private room. Excellent accomodation even with the book on the history of Cannibalism on the book shelf!
The bar next door provided...
Oh this is looking like a cab day! We too had a rough start to the Camino. We have had 1 planned rest day as well as 2 unplanned due to unforseen circumstances. I don't think I have a tough descent in me today
Oh right. #BonusProTip. Bought feminine hygiene pads for myself for the first time ever. Not because the blisters are bleeding but because NOWHERE WAS OPEN THAT SELLS GAUZE. Excellent cushioning, self sticking and feet smell fresh. Kotex is getting a 5 star Google review later
...I? Where did the arrows go? WHERE IS MY PASSPORT ( See LBs post ) . Really, $20 knock off sandals and $4 socks could lead to blisters?
WHAT THE **** with the long double curved cobblestone death trap? And why did I walk up this mountain just to walk 75 percent back down WHEN THE HIGHWAY IS...
After a few days of tough walking I've found I get tired of the "Buen Camino" as im just trying to get through and push away the thoughts of "where is the nearest airport? I could be home in 2 days" 😀
I am taking a taxi from Zuribi to Pamplona today Sunday September 10. Would anyone like to ride along and split the fare?
Also happy to have anyone just ride along if the cost of splitting is prohibitive as im going any way. Thinking of leaving sometime between 10 AM and noon.
I will delete...
Currently on the Camino in Zubiri. Took some searching to find beds the past 2 nights yet had great success and very pleasant adventures. Booked ahead for Pamplona as we are in recovery mode after a difficult first 2 days on the trail.
We are able / happy to pay a little more if we need to, ok...
We are ON THE WAY!
TL:DR
Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. The Camino provides. Stumbles quickly turn into amazing leaps. If you are thinking of giving up take a rest for a few minutes / hours / days and regroup.
What a Journey already!
Arrived in Paris at 7 am. Found the metro...
Though not part of the air miles I suspect we will be spending the $s to splurge on the Parador in Leon as my wife and I have talked about that one every since watching The Way with Martin Sheen
