I used this poncho; it work well for the three days or so of rain in April 2023. I purchased it in orange to make myself easliy seen while walking along...
Hi Jennifer, my Son and I walked the Camino Frances April 2023. I would recommend a lite weight sleeping bag, quick dry towel the size you mention in your other post will work fine. Most of the Camino will still be rather cool in the morning untill you get past Ocebeiro. On a side note I would...
Hey Mark. My Son and I walked around the same time this year. I found a lite weight puff jacket made by Heely Hansen. It worked well for the cool mornings (45-50 degrees). I also carried a rain jacket made by Khul. I kinda lived in the puff jacket, the insulation properties allowed it to breathe...
Keep moving forward. Take these experiences bunch them up with all your past experiences and reconcile them. You are doing great cuz you are already there on the Camino. Open yourself up to all your experiences you wont regret it..
Good questions, the wheels are spinning. I like that..
My son and I started from SJPDP on 1April2023 arrived at Santigo on 5 May 2023. With the exception of the first two days I will say the weather was perfect from Roncesvalles to Santiago. When I do it again I will start one week later. The...
Well, I would look at it from a different perspective. When you do finally make your camino you will have plenty of time to reflect on the time ( one of many i’m sure) when you were there for your family in thier time of need. I imagine those memories will bring so much more meaning to your...
I used both moleskin and Trtitas by Hartman and found the Tiritas to be way more effective. Unlike Moleskin you don't have to cut around the blister. It's like a second skin that you place right over the blister. Worked great. last long..
Oh man. My son and I just finished our first Camino journey on 5 May 2023. I wore an Arctyrex lowcut hiking boot. I am so impressed with the way they wore. I have to say a good insole will also make a difference. I opted for Superfeet, my feet were so happy. I hope you find the best shoe that...
Hello Forum Family:

Wishing you the best Camino. May you find the beauty in the momentous stage you have chosen to undertake. Take it ALL in and may you both come through stronger than ever. Together..
My son and I just walked the Meseta, while I understand how it could be rough in the heat of the summer when all the fields are dry, it was nice during this time of year cuz the mornings were cool and the fields were green. We walked the Meseta like Snowwhites 7 Dwarfs. We wistled while we walked.
Yes you can. Drink up..
I went to the market when I first arrived and paid like 70 cents for a liter of water. Then I asked the cashier why it was so inexpensive, she said the water is perfectly fine to drink in Spain, we use bottled water for special purposes inly like baby stuff.
I personally would do the liner right about now. Unless you have a very lightweight sleeping bag. The days are getting warmer as we move west. I have a sleeping bag and I’ve used it a few times, more like a blanket though.
