I'm American and have always used this saying. I grew up on the East Coast. Maybe it's a regional thing? Or a generational thing? I've used it around my Millennial coworkers and they didn't get it. But then again, they don't get a lot of things (idioms).
LOL! It always makes me chuckle when I see people post that they think 10C (50F) is freezing. Sorry, couldn’t help myself. For us thats shorts and t-shirt weather.
Stay happy fellow pilgrims. There’s enough stress and anger going around without arguing over packing a sleeping pad. To each their...
Free pick up and return to the Camino. The Primitivo has some tough days and the last thing I want to is walk an extra 2 + kms. Maybe offer packed lunches for the next day? We stayed at one albergue toward the last couple of days that was a kilometer off the road and they came to pick us up...
Square mouth and insure my trip are both good aggregates of travel insurance. I’ve used several comps over the years. This year we’re going to Egypt in June and we ended up buying Travel Insured again. High coverages and yes, they do cover quarantines. I bought it back in November And quarantine...
We each carried 3 liters and on 1 or 2 days we had to ask for water from the locals. The temps that May were in the low 80s on a couple days (Even the local complained about the heat). The rest of the days we didn't go through all 3 liters. Just watch when you start getting low and see where the...
There is nothing scary about this route. And if you don't want to walk uphill you are going to have a problem because there are many uphill and downhill sections along the Primitivo. Just take it slow. Nothing is technical. It's just hills. It's a beautiful hike.
There’s no need to walk 25 km days. It can be done in 2 weeks or 16 days with stages not exceeding 20km. Plenty of albergues along the way. On this forum there is a separate Camino Primitivo sub-forum Where you can see all the different posts and itineraries that we have done.
We did the Primitivo in Mid May and it was HOT. Temps were in the 80s and with long stretches without water sources. We had to knock on doors a couple times. Next time we'll go in April. We walked the Invierno last year in early to mid April and it was perfect weather with temps in the 50s. Next...
I totally forgot to put mine in my checked bag and left it in my backpack. It was found when I went through security in Madrid and they gave me the option of checking it in or mailing it (my 1 bag with our poles and some stuff had been checked in already) or tossing it away. Unfortunately I had...
My husband and I stayed there in April 2019. We were the only ones there and we had to call the mayor to come and open the place. We waited about 30 minutes because he doesn't live close by. Beautiful place. Everything is brand new. The hot water heater wasn't working so we had no heat or hot...
Forget waterproof socks. All you need is waterproof boots and gaiters. If you want shoes instead then still get gaiters. I don’t know how much snow you’ll have but gaiters are great for rain and stepping in mud. But my feet only stay dry because I use waterproof boots. Others will tell you not...
What airline are you flying that this is a problem? We always carry on my husband's Kestrel 48 and my Kyte 46 without any problem. They both fit comfortably in the overhead of any major carrier. They never even take a second look (of course they aren't packed to max).
I'm guessing your concern...
I can send you the map book he made. It’s high quality since surveying is one of his areas of expertise. He had to cleanup Wikiloc tracks that were made by amateurs to create a clean track. I’ll send you a link my Dropbox tomorrow.
I’m also an Osprey Kyte 46L fan. I prefer it for things like the Camino because I can also use it on long day hikes on glaciers since it has an ice axe holder. It’s perfect for carryon since I never have it packed to full capacity and can easily cinch it down to a smaller size. I chose it...
I had the honor of meeting and sharing a wonderful lunch with them in Santiago and helping them the following day to get on their way.

Isn’t there more than one podiatrist in your city? Custom orthotics are far better than any over the counter ones. Superfeet were useless for me. You might to look at dr Scholls. They have a special heavier duty Sports insole that might work for you. Better than nothing.
I gave The Hostal Carpinteiros a great review because they have nice private en suite rooms and the made just for you dinner was fantastic. Simple home cooked meal. It was just the 3 of us staying there and it was like having grandma cooking a 3 course meal for us. Asked what we preferred and if...
