Age should never be a barrier to anything my friend because one mans 74 is another mans 64 or even 54. We all age differently and if you feel fit and well simply go for it. I met two Texans last year on the Portuguese camino who walked from Porto to SDC that would put the rest of us to shame...
Funny you should say that somebody actually leaned over the top bunk in the Ronsevalles dormitory and put his two hands around my brothers neck to prevent him snoring:eek: Seems to have done the trick though because he didn't snore for at least a week afterwards!
I agree it's the descents that will do for your knees.I took the wrong path down into Roncevalles and felt like my knees had locked up it was so steep. Think I was walking like Frankenstien by the end :D:D:D
If the weather is good Orrison for me everytime. The views are spectacular and it's where you meet life long friends. It's a great place to look up at the stars and contemplate God's creation whats not to like?
I agree the first week is very strenuous lots of up and down hills so be prepared for that I found the section they call Calvary the hardest but It was very enjoyable for all that;)
Flew into Vigo last June got bus to Valenca and walked back another 8kms or so as there was a particular private hostal I wanted to stay at. All good just book ahead for peace of mind is good advice.
Brittany Ferries are opening up the same route from Ireland in April to Santander I have always wanted to bring my bicycle this could be my opportunity:eek:
