Suggestions for 8-10 day segment on Portuguese Camino (May 2023)?

Would you be able to post where you stayed here? That would be very helpful as we're thinking of walking from Porto next year. Also can you explain why the baggage transfer didn't work for you as we were hoping to do that. Thanks.

    Thank you so much!

    Coffee inPortugal

So which one is the nearest to a Spanish Cortado please? I'm about to start weekly Portuguese lessons on zoom via International House in London and I'm pretty sure we'll be learning how to ask for coffee. ☕

    Caminho Portugues da Costa/Senda Litoral

We're thinking of doing Porto to Caminha next year as we don't have time to do the complete route and we only do about 15-20km a day. I'd be interested in the small hotels you stayed in as we will be looking for private rooms and bathrooms. Thanks.

    Stamps along senda litoral?

We did our first Camino in April/May from Tui including the Variante Espiritual and soon realised that we could get them from all sorts of places including the Guardia Civil advising pilgrims on the way to Pontevedra.

planning the coastal - any "don't miss" places?

Excellent. Thank you very much. I'll download that route. Yes I've used a converter as well to convert from GPX to KML and then import into Google My Maps to get an overview of our routes. Do you by any chance know of any good GPX editors? I'd quite like to adjust some of routes but it's...

planning the coastal - any "don't miss" places?

Thanks. I do have the Brierley guide and it does look quite detailed. We tend to use the GPX tracks as a back-up for when we're not sure. If we do that route, we'll use Wikiloc to track it and upload the track as we use it to record as well as follow tracks. It's very good.

planning the coastal - any "don't miss" places?

Do you know where you can get the tracks for the river/cycle route between Caminha and Valenca? I actually use the Wikiloc app and upload GPX tracks to it or find tracks that others have uploaded but I haven't found the river route yet. Currently planning for next year!

LIVE from the Camino Camino Portuguese Coastal Route - Tips & Tricks 🚶🏼‍♀️

Yes it does count as we have just done it, walked from O Porino via the Variante Spiritual and received our Compostela and got at least 2 stamps each day.

Camino Portuguese - Litoral and Coastal

Thank you so much for this and particularly for information on private rooms. We've just done the last 100km from O Porrino to SdC via the Variante Spiritual and now we want to start in Porto following the Coastal/Litoral next year so am avidly following all the "live" posts and taking notes!

Advice needed on Camino ‘organised tours’

I agree with that. We were on an organised trip this year with everything booked but we weren't in a group. We had walking notes and GPX trax to follow. Most evenings were half-board and we would have liked to have had the option to eat out and choose simple menus or tapas. We're now planning...

LIVE from the Camino CP coastal senda

Good luck! And Buen Camino. We remember walking past that hotel on our last day. The car park was very busy and there appeared to be a load of bikers meeting up. Fortunately we didn't need Aircon on May 1st. I don't envy you the heat

LIVE from the Camino CP coastal

How nice to read this. We did that day a month ago - it was our 2nd day as we'd started walking from O Porrino. There was a very steep descent and I really needed my poles. There was only one bagpiper - I bought a ceramic cockle shell from him - and a can of Aquarius from the other guy and then...

My turn for a LIVE thread - starting from Lisbon

Aah so we need to keep an eye on the best dates. We were happy walking in April and prefer rain to heat. We've walked around Sintra before and April was better for us then although obviously Easter and Holy Week can happen then and make everything busier.

My turn for a LIVE thread - starting from Lisbon

Thank you for all your honest posts. We're quite interested in walking from Lisbon next year but keep hearing that it's not an enjoyable route. We've just got back from our first Camino but just doing the last 100km from O Porino and via the Variante Spiritual. The itinerary, hotels and luggage...

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Test needed flying from uk to lisbon

You don't need an app. Did you fill in the Portuguese Passenger Locator form https://portugalcleanandsafe.pt/en/passenger-locator-card ? When you complete it, you receive an email with a PDF doc attached. To open it, use your passport no. as the password. The QR code is in this doc. If you can...

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Test needed flying from uk to lisbon

Not sure if this helps as we have British passports but we are flying from Stansted to Porto tomorrow and only need Vax. I filled in the Passenger Locator Form but didn't need to upload any proof of the Vax unlike the Spanish PLF where we did. I have the QR code from the Portuguese PLF and have...
