Roamless looks promising, and I'd be interested in your impression of it once you've used it. If you can follow up with a post to share your thoughts after your walk, that would be great. Buen Camino!
Hi there,
As I recall the top up packages came in a variety of data amounts and date ranges, so I didn't have to top up for 30 days if I just needed another week or so. You can go to their website (airalo.com) and see the prices and various top up packages for where you're going. Look at both...
I have used Airalo in several countries, including Spain, France, Germany, and Latin America. I typically get a regional sim for where I am traveling. I have had good experiences with them. The one time I had an issue installing the e-sim, their online and chat help set me right. I recommend...
You'll have wet feet, but that's ok. They'd be wet even with waterproof shoes. Once at your lodging, pull out your insoles and stuff newspaper into your shoes. They'll be dry enough for the next day. You don't need a pack cover or a rain jacket if you're wearing a poncho, so leave those at home...
I did not use hiking poles and didn't feel I needed them. The terrain was not steep or technical on this route, so I didn't need any help with stability, and my knees are fine. But if you like them for knee support, you should use them. Bom Camino, enjoy the beautiful walk!
Rubber Birkenstock sandals. Supportive, waterproof, and you can wear with socks if it's chilly. Great for walking around town, albergue, shower, and beach.
Greetings!
I'm traveling on June 8, arriving at SdC train station at 2 pm for a 5 pm flight from SQC. I've checked rome2rio, they estimate a taxi to be 50 plus euros for 14 kms. Just wondering if anyone has recent experience taking a taxi from train station to airport, and if this price estimate...

I emailed to the above address for a reservation and received a prompt reply. Be sure to specify the Bayonne location in your request as they run a few hostels in different locations.
Hi Davian! It was an amazing camino, and I may be back for another next April as well. We had really no cold rain at all, but we did have some cold, clear mornings along the Portuguese coast and rainy warm-ish days once in Spain. I brought a poncho, down vest and several lightweight layers...
Food was a little challenging for me as I mostly eat vegetarian. I ate a lot of dry cheese sandwiches and batatas rusticas (potato wedges). The spanish omelettes with potatoes were good. Some nice green salads. Lots of people enjoyed the fish and seafood, and the ham. There were lovely...
I didn't track elevation (although I think the camino ninja app estimated them for based on daily stages). The route we took seemed to me pretty flat for 85% of it. A day or 2 had what I would call "hills" but nothing grueling. There was one day (coming into Viana do Castelo I believe) where...
hi Indy - It's the Sea to Summit Traveller Down Sleeping Bag. It is a mummy bag that unzips into a blanket, so really versatile and lightweight. www.seatosummit.com.
Greetings!
I walked the Portuguese Camino from Porto (taking the Senda Litoral, Coastal, and Central routes) from April 1 to April 13. This was my first Camino, and it was so wonderful. I wanted to post this trip report in case some details help others in planning their spring trips. I walked...
So excited! My first camino (hopefully first of many), starting from Porto on April 1. Coming into Portugal from California on March 30 and meeting some hiking pals in Porto to begin our journey.
This forum has been such a great source of inspiration and valuable tips, I really appreciate...
