Thanks for all of the replies and good information. Here is my proposed plan - it's not written in stone and we are not going until spring so may change but generally we want to see the coastal towns and if some of the distances prove to be too much - we will cab or bus some portions. Already...
Don't want to go inland but maybe we should go directly from Ancora to Oia and skip A Guarda. Don't have unlimited time for this - will be also pre booking our hotels so I kinda need to really plan the route - but that's how we roll. Just need to know the best parts to skip and limit our walking...
Not sure yet. We just finished Vigo to SDC - last 100K - got the Compostela. We now want to do the first part and will end in Vigo and then take the bus to SDC. So for some parts we may not walk if the stretches are too long. Might do this the first day - walk out of Porto to Matosinhos - taxi...
Hi all,
Planning to do the Coastal next spring from Porto. I know that many people cab or subway it to Matosinhoos - but we really like that stretch along the river and then the Atlantic so I kinda wanted to walk out from Porto and then maybe bus another section.
We probably don't want to do...
Thanks for that,
I see some varying routes when I google them and some turn inward fairly quickly. Do you have a particular route that you recommend that would see us doing a max of 25K on any given day? I would like to stay to the coast as much as possible.
Hi
We just finished Vigo to Santiago last week and are now planning our next Camino. Since we got our Compostela, I don't care about getting another one but I'm thinking I would like to plan Porto to Vigo - then bus from Vigo to Santiago. We want to experience the coast part from Porto to...
Hi
thanks for the info. We just finished the Portuguese - Vigo to Santiago and are thinking of doing the Ingles next May. We used a bag transfer service but I booked my own hotels using Booking dot com. Do you think that is do-able on the Ingles or is there a lot less infrastructure with regards...
I think you are right - I should do that. Do you have any preference of lines - and are you familiar with the bus station in Porto - I heard it's quite massive and not in the town centre.
Hi all
We are arriving in Porto on Sept 10 and leaving for Vigo on the 13th - I think that based on the schedules, the bus seems better than the train. Is it necessary to get tickets far ahead - will I be able to book when I get to Porto - just a couple days in advance. Any recommendations on...
NEVER - unless I was dying from a gunshot or something. Could be dangerous - for either party. As much as we may not want to think so - the world is a dangerous place if you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time - and meet the WRONG person.
Check out Caminofacil for transfers. I think they are a bit more flexible on their pick-up locations - and they allow 20Kg per bag - many only allow 15. Just in case - right?
Sounds fabulous - very smart to do the route you wanted and have some little work arounds to make it a bit easier for you - but still a legal walk. Cheers!
we have all our hotels booked because we wanted to be sure ( not flying by the seat of our pants type travellers) and we are using a luggage service so we do have daily targets but we are OK with that.
Well I guess I could just re-register and get a new QR code - we are doing it for many reasons - but decided against ticking that box - it's very confusing. We might get spiritual along the way - so there you go.
