Thank you so much for your post. I am really encouraged and reassured. I was reluctant to book Orisson partly because it was such a short distance from St Jean, and also in case local advice on day is to take alternative route if weather is bad. Will be leaving home with a lighter heart now.
Still undecided on which route - and I guess weather may play a part. Also undecided as to whether to go all way to Ronscevalles in first day or whether to take a break.
There seem to be a few of us starting within a day or so of one another, which is making me feel a little better! I am fine to walk alone but would like to know others are not too far away if I get into trouble! Hope to see you.
