If you can afford to travel to Europe you can afford travel insurance. we do not naturually "have" insurance in Europe, we pay for it through our taxes, and its annoying when visitors think they can use our emergency medicine without paying. after due consideration we have "chickened out"! Still going by car, and 1800 miles is quite a trek even if it doesn't meet the criteria for being a pilgrim, but its air conditioned hotels for us, stuff the cost you only live once! Kids on the Camino
Are there many kids on the route. thinking of driving most of it I admit, walking just the last 100km - are the people tolerant of possible noisy children (not worried about their fitness we fell walk). Also any ideas of child friendly stop off points on the last 100km, guessing the pilgrim...- anniehm

Thinking about driving the route from France next summer. Time constraints and children who complain far too much mean we cannot walk large sections but hope to just do the last 100km on foot.
