We had to book our bus ticket near the time, 3 months is to quick, a month ok.
The bus people are very helpful, even in the middle of the night which is pretty scary anyway

Yes, ausmarko, you're right, you had wonderful weather, we had snow & white-out, a beautiful day all the same, with a lovely evening meal & copious amounts of red wine, but not much heating.

Agree take some professional advice, & physiotherapy. Did you know your knees are supported by those big muscles in you thighs, I have to do extra exercises to support knee(s), just to walk normally. Good Luck. (apparently those knee supports don't do any good(physio said), but they feel good, &...

When I walked the Dragonte route the barking dogs warmed me of my fellow walkers with their barking, whom I was trying to catch up too. I stopped to shelter from the snow & have a bite to eat, one of the local dogs joined me & we had a snack & a chat together :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :D
& then...
Simple really, pack them in your rucksack, & check everything to go in the hold, its peace of mind.
& you definitely will not be able to walk around with your poles in Madrid airport for your return flight.
Suggest you top & tail them when packing.
