As i walked along this September a conversation turned to "why". My fellow walker from Washington DC simply passed on "you come to the camino to find one thing and instead find another".
My group of friends who did the Camino in September opted for the private rooms for a variety of reasons. 25-30 seemed the going rate. We still met up with lots of people and enjoyed the comraderie of the Camino
Having recently completed Astorga to Santiago with two college buddies heres my experience. They were the hares and had a much faster natural pace than me (the turtle aka el tortuga). What worked for us was a predetermined stopping point. I would arrive dusty and tired and find them at a cafe...
Finished in Santiago a week ago today with my 2 college friends. Every day we separated as the "hares" had a much faster pace and would meet up at our designated spot to spend the night. The newly designated "El Tortuga aka The Turtle" would mosey along and have a grand ole time. Some days it...
Great thoughts. I almost feel like i have read too much. Leaving next week and will be spending the remaining days trying to get that pack light as possible.
Next week at 59 and creeping quickly towards 60 myself and my two college friends start our first Camino. Having read the trail think most points covered but will report back when the "Lost Boys" return on anything to add.
I live out in Chester County/West Chester area and next month (9/16) start a work dictated length of pilgrimage from Astorga to Santiago. Will be traveling with my college room-mates from Loyola University in LA. 59 going on 60 so will probably be traveling in the slow lane. Love to be part of a...
There will be three of us 59 going on 60 Loyola university friends who will be leaving from Astorga the morning of the 16th. So if you see 3 people stumbling along dazed and confused that will be us. Buen Camino and hope to run into you
I went to REI wanting to buy an Osprey and ended up buying a Deuter. This is a feel thing. You need to try a few on with weight in them. I found that the frame of the Osprey dug into my side a bit. I have been doing my training hikes for the past month with a loaded Deuter and find it excellent...
I live in the Philly area and will be doing the Camino in September. Would like to talk live to someone who has done the camino. All the FAQs are great but getting a live feel would be great.
Thanks all for the help. My buddies and i have three weeks. rying a little side trip to Legrono first and then from Ponferrada on to Santiago. Starting 9/14. Any suggestions on best way to Legrono from Madrid?
what is best way to get from Santo Domingo de la Calzada to Ponferrada? Need to get a bus but seem to be having trouble with that connection. Does it need to be another city?
