Walking poles or not
Click, click, click, click....I walked the camino del norte last year. Challenging for a 64 year old little lady with no walking experience! I did not use poles, just an old wooden staff. Yes, there are parts where the staff was useful, but I shall never believe that the walking poles are...- aude

Temporary closure of the CSJ refuge at Miraz
I was at Miraz beginning of November, also having arrived in torrential rain and soaked through. What a wonderful, warm welcoming place. Hot coffee and biscuits and fruit soon set me up! Great kitchen (unlike too many aubergues!). Good luck with the renovations - I will be back!- aude
