On 2 previous caminos I had to take rest days due to my knees becoming very sore from going down steep hills. Is there any exercise or precaution I can practice to avoid this reoccurring. I'd like to do Norte in September but fear the down hills will injur my knees.

I plan to start Norte from Irun Sept 15. Flying from Canada, seems I can choose Paris or Madrid as the closest international airports. Then choices are to connect fly, take a train, or bus. Wondering the simplest options. Any advise.
Hi. I have an authentic credential obtained by mail. Its blank at present. I can write my name and passport number etc. then have it stamped at the cathedral or albergue but I expected it gets enrolled somewhere as a pilgrim that sets off from Seville. Any insight on this.
