Remember that you make the way by walking. Each Camino for me (3 of the CF) have been so vastly different I couldn’t have imagined it. Not all good;) but that is also part of the Camino. Drop your expectations and take each day as a fresh experience.
Avoiding the ‘pulse’ wasn’t working on the Norte this summer unfortunately as lots of others were thinking the same thing. Literally the next 3 stops were full on my last night there. That was a range from 12km to 30km walk the next day.
I’ve done it 3 times and it has been tough each time but I love it!!
I would recommend NOT taking the steep route into Roncesvalles - I slipped on my second time, as it was muddy, and tore my rotator cuff (which needed surgery by the time I got home a month later).
